Virtual Book Launch Party & Workshop

It is time for this special book to come into the world and YOU and ANY teacher you care about are invited!

Misha would love for you to not only witness and partake in this exciting moment but also enjoy the benefits of her offerings during this event.

Her book, A Teacherโ€™s Companion: How to Center Empathy and Emotional Well-Being for Yourself and Your Students, is centered on bringing peace and joy to our amazing teachers. This helps their impact to be filled with love, compassion, and empathy for themselves and their students resulting in students feeling cared for, nurtured, and eager to learn. The launch party will be set up in a similar way.

We willโ€ฆ

  • start with a playful low-stress ice breaker

  • enjoy a moment of silence together to acknowledge all people around the world suffering from physical ailments, injustice, mental health, and loss

  • participate in an intention setting activity

  • hear a few sections from the book read by Misha

  • journal our reflections and offer a brave space, for those who wish, to share aloud or in the zoom chat

  • pledge to support the book by sharing the book link and/or purchase the book for themselves or others

***Teacher appreciation Week is May 8-12th*** so, you have plenty of time to purchase this book for all your teachers! But, please do not buy the book until April 30th! Thank you!

At last! A book that focuses on how teachers can bring their best selves to the classroom every day no matter what else is going on in their lives. Who will I be for my students today? Thatโ€™s the fundamental question on which all successful teaching depends. Misha Safran draws on her long, successful career in the classroom to deliver on the promise stated so clearly in the title: A Teacherโ€™s Companion: How to Center Empathy and Emotional Wellbeing for Yourself and Your Students. I would have loved to have this book on my desk in my thirty years of teaching and leading schools.

~ Stephen Davenport, teacher, head of school, author.
